Thayná Pedroso’s Stop Hunger journey
A volunteering journey that started with education
Thayná’s commitment to volunteering began long before she joined Pluxee. While at university, she volunteered to teach Portuguese and basic mathematics to cleaning staff members who were completing their basic education. For her, the experience was transformative.
“It taught me empathy and showed me firsthand how education can change lives.”
Over time, Thayná became a coordinator of this and other social projects supporting children, teenagers and people experiencing homelessness. What started as volunteering became a passion and eventually shaped her professional path.
She chose to build a career in social responsibility, managing projects designed to create positive social impact across Brazil. When she later joined Pluxee and discovered Stop Hunger, she saw an opportunity to take that commitment even further.

Turning professional skills into opportunities
For Thayná, fighting food insecurity is not only about responding to immediate food needs. Education, employability, income generation and greater independence can all help people build more secure futures.
Knowledge is one of the most powerful resources we can share.
This belief has shaped her approach to skills-based volunteering at Pluxee Brazil.
Working closely with nonprofit partners, Thayná identifies their needs and connects them with employees whose professional expertise can make a difference.

Under her coordination, 14 volunteering activities have mobilized 114 volunteers and reached more than 650 people, with initiatives focused particularly on employability, entrepreneurship and empowerment for women and young people. She has also personally encouraged 13 colleagues to volunteer, helping more employees recognize that the skills they use every day can become a valuable resource for someone else. This impact earned Thayná well-deserved recognition as a 2025 Stop Hunger Top Achiever.
